I don’t want Pan Am to get cancelled… the more I’ve watched of the show the more I really like it. It’s fluffy and light and kind of a ridiculous show but compelling nonetheless. A lot of it has to do with the heavy/light dichotomy they have on the show. Episode 3 is a great episode; indicative of the series. You’ve got Christina Ricci running around bug-eyed trying to meet JFK in Berlin on one hand and then you’ve got Karine Vanasse’s character on the other dealing with the pain of having her family killed by the Nazis.
Also, I interviewed Karine Vanasse last week and she was one of the most charming, honest, candid people I’ve ever had the pleasure of interviewing and the whole interview was a breeze. Hopefully she’ll take me up on my offer of getting decent pizza when she’s in town (after my disastrous attempt to make poutine the other day). She’s going to be huge one day, I can feel it.
Oh, shut up.
